TPACK SMARTPACK Solutions focus on efficient transport of packet services, in particular Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) defined Carrier Ethernet Services (E-Line, E-LAN, E-TREE). These services can be transported over many technologies, however TPACK SMARTPACK Solutions are designed to provide the reliability and resiliency typical to telecom applications.

The following application examples show how TPACK SMARTPACK Solutions combine the flexibility and scalbility of packet services with the reliability and resiliency of carrier grade transport:

Common for all application examples is a basic migration solution proposal designed to ease transition from existing circuit-switched telecom networks to packet-based networks. The solution migration proposal is based on re-use of existing infrastructure in the first phase, introducing MEF Carrier Ethernet User Network Interfaces (UNI) and exploiting these standard interfaces to introduce Connection Oriented Packet Transport technologies, such as PBT/PBB-TE and T-MPLS in the next phase.
