Issue 1 April 2008

Welcome to T|PACK’s first quarterly newsletter!

In the following newsletter you will find information on new products, events where you can see TPACK as well as articles on concepts, technologies and applications supported by TPACK solutions. In this issue we present more information on our SOFTSILICON concept and a new product based on this concept. We hope you find the information useful and your feedback is always welcome.

Introducing the SMARTPACK TPX3103 52 Gbps Carrier Packet Engine: TPACK’s latest SOFTSILICON product

With the TPX3100, TPACK introduced the first chip solution to provide PBT, T-MPLS and VPLS support with Carrier Class traffic management and hardware based OAM-based protection switching. With the TPX3103, TPACK has enhanced this solution to provide a 40% improvement in power consumption, up to 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a total duplex, non-blocking switching capacity of 52 Gbps. With the TPX3103 TPACK provides a standard product with performance and features that is second to none, while also providing the peace of mind that rapid response to new standards developments and market needs that only an FPGA based solution can provide.

Hear TPACK, Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel on the latest developments in T-MPLS and PBB-TE at IIR’s Packet Transport Networks

Join TPACK, Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel at IIR’s Packet Transport Networks event on April 17th for a technical briefing on T-MPLS and PBB-TE. The briefing will provide an overview for those who are not familiar with these relatively new technologies, but will also provide an update on the latest developments for those more familiar with Connection Oriented Packet Transport. IIR’s Packet Transport Networks will be held from the 14th to the 17th of April at the Maritim Hotel Berlin, Germany. Visit TPACK at booth #2 during the event.

TPACK to speak on Packet Optical Transport at Lightreading’s Ethernet Expo Europe

TPACK’s Director Marketing, Daniel Joseph Barry will take part in the Lightreading Ethernet Expo Europe “Packet Optical Transport: Defining the Next-Generation of Optical Transmission” panel discussion on the 14th of April together with Ciena, BTI Photonics and Matisse Networks. The panel discussion will provide an overview of the new and potentially significant Packet Optical Transport segment, where Connection Oriented Packet Transport with SONET/SDH and OTN are combined to provide powerful new packet optical transport networks. The Lightreading Ethernet Expo Europe event is being held in the Business Design Centre, Islington, London from the 14th to the 16th of April. Visit TPACK at booth #209 during the event.
