TPACK SMARTPACK Products are SOFTSILICON chip solutions, based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). They provide a full and comprehensive feature set for packet transport applications, but also the flexibility to adapt and customize this feature set to fit changing customer and market demands. TPACK SMARTPACK Products are developed as part of a system level SMARTPACK Solution. They are thus pre-integrated and pre-tested providing telecom equipment vendors with the assurance that system level integration issues have already been taken into consideration.

Packet Mappers provide framing and mapping functionality that enables packet data to be efficiently transported over existing telecommunication networks. Examples are Ethernet over NG-SONET/SDH and Ethernet over NG-PDH. Packet Mapper Products include high-level driver API Software for ease of integration into application software.
Carrier Packet Engines combine packet processing and advanced traffic management functionality in a single chip solution. Carrier Packet Engines can simultaneously support a wide range of packet data protocols including Carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS, VPLS/PWE3 as well as more recent PBB-TE/PBT and T-MPLS protocols with full-duplex, non-blocking switching capacity up to 40 Gbps. Due to unique design of TPACK Carrier Packet Engines, switching capacity can be maintained irrespective of the load placed on the chip. Advanced traffic management functionality is provided in-line with MEF recommendations. Carrier Packet Engine products include high-level driver API Software for ease of integration into application software.
Carrier Packet Mapper Engines combine the full feature sets of both Packet Mappers and Carrier Packet Engines in a single FPGA-based chip solution. This allows cost-optimized Ethernet over NG-SONET/SDH solutions to be deployed reducing space and power requirements. It also allows full support for all MEF defined Carrier Ethernet Services. Carrier Packet Mapper Engines include high-level driver API Software, which is compatible with existing Packet Mapper and Carrier Packet Engine driver software.
Packet Optical Engines combine the functionality of an Ethernet over OTN mapper and Carrier Packet Engines in a single FPGA-based chip solution. Ideal for Packet Optical Transport Network (P-OTN) applications, Packet Optical Engines allow advanced packet optical add-drop muxponder applications including support for transport of Ethernet, FiberChannel and SONET/SDH clients over OTN networks. The solutions include both standard and enhanced Forward Error Correction (FEC) functionality.
