High Level Driver with API Software
With each SMARTPACK Carrier Packet Engine and Packet Mapper, a High-level driver with API is provided as an integral part of the product.
TPACK provides High-level driver with API software together with Carrier Packet Engine and Packet Mapper Products. The software is supplied in source code (e.g. C) and binary form and can be adapted to support customer specific requirements.
The High-level driver with API software can be compiled to run on any Operating System (such as Linux or VxWORKS).
The software includes the following functions:
- Basic acces to chip-level registers of Carrier Packet Engine or Packet Mapper products
- Software assistance for key features. For example:
- NG-SONET/SDH LCAS hitless add/remove operations
- Hashing operations
- MAC Learning operations
SMARTPACK Reference Systems and Solutions have implemented and tested High-level driver with API software on AMCC PowerPC 405 / 440 CPU-systems.
