TPX3103 Carrier Packet Engine

The TPX3103 Carrier Packet Engine is a combined Carrier Ethernet Switch and Traffic Manager with support for PBB-TE / PBT and also T-MPLS, MPLS and VPLS/PWE3.

The TPX3103 provides unrivaled support for multiple popular Carrier Ethernet protocols. This includes full hardware support for fast protection switching schemes demanded by PBB-TE /PBT and T-MPLS. This has resulted in proven and tested protection switching performance well within the 50msec carrier grade requirement.

Designed on a monolithic switching architecture, the TPX3103 provides totally deterministic performance under any load with simultaneous support for multiple protocols and OAM processing on up to 1000 protected groups. 

The TPX3103 is delivered as a SOFTSILICON product including:

  • Altera Stratix III EP3SL200 device
  • FPGA image software implementing TPX3103 features and interfaces
  • Associated driver software
