T-MPLS and PBT provide an exciting new alternative for transport of Ethernet Services. Based on the principle of "less is more", the technologies provide a scaled-down version of MPLS and Ethernet adapted specifically for connection-oriented transport applications.
The TPACK SMARTPACKTM T-MPLS and PBT solutions provide a fully functional implementation of both a T-MPLS and PBT reference system. Based on the 20 Gbps TPX3000 Carrier Packet Engine series, the SMARTPACKTM reference systems also provide application software, management agents as well as a GUI based element management system for ease of use.
Telecom equipment providers can use the SMARTPACKTM reference systems to kick-start development of T-MPLS and PBT specific aggregation nodes and core line-cards. Market feedback can be easily integrated into the solution and new standards developments can be accomodated as they emerge.
