NEC signs technology cooperation agreement with TPACK for advanced 10Gbps solution

Dec 12 2006: Copenhagen, Denmark: NEC has signed a long term technology cooperation contract with TPACK for development of an advanced 10 Gbps solution targeting the SpectralWave UN5000, NEC SpectralWave Multi-Service Platform. The agreement was signed by Mr. Yamashita, General Manager of the Optical Network Division at NEC and Mr. Peter Viereck, President and CEO of TPACK during a special ceremony at the Royal Danish Embassy in Tokyo, which was attended by both the Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and the Danish Ambassador, Freddy Svane.

The agreement includes development and delivery of an advanced 10Gbps Ethernet over SONET/SDH solution for the SpectralWave UN5000 platform, which is extensively deployed in the Worldwide market. New customer requirements and a desire for greater flexibility prompted NEC's decision to choose TPACK .
