P-OTN is a new concept that combines the best of packet and optical transport to allow simultaneous support of legacy TDM and future packet services. P-OTN combines traditional optical transport technologies, such as SONET/SDH and OTN with Connection Oriented Ethernet, whether that is based on MPLS PWE3, MPLS-TP or PBB-TE.
