TPACK products can be applied in a number of packet transport applications. The following examples show how TPACK products can meet the demands of various telecom services.

TPACK products are designed for efficient packet based services over legacy SONET/SDH, MEF defined Carrier Ethernet, and G.709 Optical Transport Networks (OTN).

The following application examples show how TPACK products combine the flexibility and scalability of packet services with the reliability and resiliency of carrier grade transport:

Common for all application examples is a basic migration solution proposal designed to ease transition from existing circuit-switched telecom networks to packet-based networks. The solution migration proposal is based on re-use of existing infrastructure in the first phase, introducing MEF Carrier Ethernet User Network Interfaces (UNI) and exploiting these standard interfaces to introduce new Connection Oriented Packet Transport technologies, such as ODU0 and ODUflex networking as well as PBT/PBB-TE and T-MPLS/MPLS-TP in the next phase.
