The programmable chip solutions that TPACK provides are referred to as SOFTSILICON. SOFTSILICON is a standard chip with a pre-defined set of features, which can be re-programmed to accomodate adaptations and field upgrades. It is similar to standard chips, like Application Specific Standard Products (ASSPs), but with the added advantage of being flexible to changing requirements.
